Edna Owens Croley Early Co-Founder 1927-2018

Edna, the daughter of the late Andy Bud Owens and Eva Bunch, attended Union College, Eastern Kentucky University and graduated from Cumberland College. She married Paul Croley in 1947. Their son, Jerry was born in 1949. Paul's experience included working for Holley Funeral Home in Clinton Tennessee, Kincaid Funeral Home in Corbin, Kentucky, and Ellison Funeral Home. He was a World War II Army Veteran and served as the Whitley County Tax Commissioner for 8 years. Edna taught school for 30 years. Together they founded Croley Funeral Home.

In 1970, Edna married Cecil Early, a Kentucky State employee and World War II Navy Veteran. Cecil was a licensed EMT and was employed at the Funeral Home for 30 years.

Edna passed away January 14, 2018 at the age of 90. The legacy that she left behind will be remembered and carried on for many generations to come.

Andy Croley is a lifelong Williamsburg Resident. He graduated from Williamsburg High School, has his B.S. in Aeronautical Science and a Masters in Forensic Science. Andy is a graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Services. He is the Past President of the Southeastern Funeral Directors District.

Andy attended the American College of Forensic Examiners and the Saint Louis University School of Medicine's School of Medicolegal Death Investigation. He is a Certified Medicolegal Investigator and is a member of the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators. A Certified Forensic Consultant, he serves as an expert witness in Federal and State Courts. He has been a member of the US DMORT Team and the DMORT WMD team, since 1994 and has provided services in the World Trade Center disaster, Walker County Georgia Tri-State Crematory, Hurricane Katrina and Comair Crash Flight 5191. Andy is also a member of the Kenyon International Disaster response team. He has attended numerous training events throughout the U.S.

Serving as the Deputy Coroner of Whitley County since 1995, Andy became the County Coroner in 2002. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge 490# F & AM, Williamsburg Commandry #50, Whitley Country Shrine Club, Chairman of the Child Fatality Review Team, Chairman of the Border Bowl All-Star high school football game. Adjunct Professor at the University of the Cumberlands teaching in the Criminal Justice Program. He is married to Tracy Davis Croley of Corbin, Kentucky and they have two children, Alicyn Cari Croley and Jerrod Andrew Croley.

Jerry is lifelong resident of Whitley County with rich roots in the community. Jerry attended Williamsburg Elementary School and Williamsburg High School and Graduated from the Tennessee Military Institute. He started his career at the Croley Funeral Home in 1967 following his high school graduation. While attending college at Cumberland College he obtained his Kentucky Certified Emergency Medical Technician where the funeral ran an Ambulance service. Jerry is a graduate of Cumberland College with a B.S. in Science in Education, and Kentucky School of Mortuary Science. He received his Kentucky and Tennessee Funeral Directors Licenses.  Jerry has two sons, Paul K. Croley and Jerry Andrew Croley two grandchildren Alicyn Cari Croley and Jerrod Andrew Croley.

Jerry was appointed Deputy Coroner in 1974 and currently the Chief Deputy Coroner. Jerry has a strong passion for the youth of Whitley County serving has an organizer and coach for over 40 years in Little League baseball football and basketball. Jerry still acts as an official in club football programs and supports all area teams. Jerry spends his time with his grandchildren and the great outdoors.

This is Dolly. She is a Golden Doodle Puppy who joined the staff of Croley Funeral Home in August 2019. She spends her days at the funeral home visiting with families at visitations and funerals. She loves visiting other businesses in town while on her walks. She especially loves the children who come to visit her and has developed quite the fan base. You can follow her adventures on Facebook or Instagram. When she gets older she will be sent to school to be a certified as a grief support dog.

Natalie Young serves as office manager and funeral director at Croley Funeral Home where she has been employed since 2005.  She has been a licensed funeral director since 2012.

Born in Columbus, Ohio and formerly of Lexington, Kentucky; she is the daughter of the late Dr. Kenneth and Karen Tufts. She has been married to her second husband, Rick Young since 2000 and is happy to call Williamsburg her home.  She is the proud mother of three sons, four grandsons and a granddaughter that live in Lexington.

She attends Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and is a member of Christ Church Cathedral in Lexington. She enjoys going to the beach, gardening,  UK sports, her minature animals, reading and spoiling her grandchildren. She is a supporter of animal rights, Hospice, the University of Kentucky Alumni Association and Grace English Church in Guatemala.

William has been in the funeral service since 2011 and a Funeral Director for Croley Funeral Home and Deputy Coroner for Andy Croley, since 2013.  A graduate of Whitley County High School, Williamsburg, Kentucky and attended Western Kentucky University and Eastern Kentucky University,  He retired from the Kentucky Department of Parks after 31 years of service.  He is the pastor of Sanders Creek Church of God.  Son of the late Vergil "Eddie" Meadors and Mary (Campbell) Meadors.  William is married to Donna (Sulfridge) Meadors.  They have three children, Rebekah Gregory, Cody Meadors and Noah Meadors, and two grandchildren, Isabella Gregory and Karsten Gregory.

William is a lifelong resident of Williamsburg.  He is married to Lisa Prewitt Steely and the father of Brittany, Zack and Matthew.  William served his apprenticeship at Croley Funeral Home and became a licensed Funeral Director in 1999.  William is an avid supporter of Williamsburg sports.  He loves spending time with his family and especially his 5 grandchildren.

Jerry has been in the funeral service business since May 1971. and currently is the Funeral Director/Embalmer for Croley Funeral Home. He has held this position since January 2000. A graduate of Corbin High School, Corbin, Kentucky, Jerry attended Cumberland College at Williamsburg, Kentucky and is a graduate of Mid-America College of Funeral Service, Jeffersonville, Indiana. He is a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in Vietnam. The son of the late Rev. Elmer F. and Ada Spradlin Elliott, Jerry is married to Joyce Patterson Elliott. They have one daughter, Sonya Clabaugh, and 2 Grandsons, Guy Reed III and Jerry Keith Reed.

Willard Earl Douglas Greeter

Willard was born and raised at Jellico Creek Kentucky. He married Maymie Andrews in 1953 they have two children Rebecca Johnson and Marty Douglas. Willard and Maymie have two Granddaughters April Gibson and Heather Douglas. They have two Great Grandchildren Zack and Tristian Gibson.

Willard along with his uncle Earl Douglas and father started Douglas Brothers Texaco. They operated it from 1958 until 1966. Willard retired from American Greeting Corp. after 23 1/2 years. Since retirement Willard enjoys singing at various churches and working for the Lord, he also enjoys fishing and camping with his family and friends.

Willard has been employed at Croley Funeral Home since May 2005.
